William Peck, 15, Is Dead

Died Saturday, Funeral Services In Blair Monday

James William Peck, 15-year-old Herman youth, died Saturday at Memorial Community Hospital. The Herman youth was taken to Methodist Hospital in Omaha about three months ago, and later transferred to the Blair Hospital. During his illness he has been unconscious most of the time.

James William Peck was born March 1, 1943, at the Lutheran Hospital in Omaha. He graduated from New England country school and attended Herman High School one year.

Jim took a keen interest in school activities, was a member of a 4-H club, specializing in sheep. In 1957 he won a blue ribbon in a state tractor-driving contest at Lincoln. He was a member of the DeMolay Lodge.

James was baptized August 2, 1943, at Bloomfield, Nebr. He attended a preparatory church membership class in Herman and was received into full membership of the First Methodist Church of Herman April 14, 1957.

Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Peck of Herman; one sister, Joan; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Peck of Herman.

Funeral services will be held today (Monday) at 2 o’clock at the Methodist Church in Blair, he Rev. Donald Springer of Blair, and the Rev. Dan Petersen of Herman officiating. Interment will follow in Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be six Herman youths, Bill Anderson, Dale Brodersen, Mervin Fleming, Richard Mullins, Stanley Lammers and Robert Frye.

The Bendorf Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
