Donald Persson, 63

Services for Donald Persson, 63, of the Thomas Fitzgerald Veterans Home near Omaha, who died at Methodist Hospital in Omaha January 8, 1996, were Wednesday, January 10, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Donald L. Persson was born November 21, 1932, at Oakland, Nebraska, to Andrew and Minnie Anderson Persson. He attended school in Oakland and graduated from Oakland High School in 1951.

He attended JFK College in Wahoo and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955.

He married Ruth Ann McBroom in Oakland, Nebraska, April 14, 1957.

He resided in Omaha after his marriage until moving to Blair in 1962.

He worked for Eaton Metal Company.

He was a member of the Blair Fraternal Order of Eagles, Blair American Legion, Blair Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a past commander of the Blair VFW.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Howard.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; three sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Donna Persson, Ogallala, Nebraska; Mike and Diane Persson, Lincoln, Nebraska, and Mark and Gail Persson, Blair; four grandsons; one granddaughter; one step-granddaughter; one step-grandson; a sister, Marian Carson of Oakland; a brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Eunice Persson and a sister-in-law, Bernice Persson of Oakland.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
