Former Countian Killed On Farm

Brother of Blairite Is Killed As Tractor Upsets IN Field

Albert W. Petersen, 50, former countian and a brother of Henry Petersen, Blair barber, was instantly killed last Wednesday when his tractor upset into a ravine while he was cultivating corn at his farm northwest of Tekamah. The body was found several hours after the accident.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the home followed at 2:30 o’clock by services at the Rose Hill Methodist Church near Herman, interment taking place in Rose Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Paul Wiegman, Tekamah Lutheran minister officiated.

Mr. Petersen, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. N. H. Petersen, was born near Herman March 12, 1891. He was married February 11, 1914, to Miss Katie Peterson, and to them were born two sons and five daughters, all of whom survive their father.

Surviving him are the wife, Katie; two sons, Harland and Lloyd; five daughters, Lois, Betty; Ruth and Mary Alice, all at home, and Mrs. Roy Plummer, Tekamah; two brothers, Henry of Blair and Nels of Decatur; four sisters; Mrs. Albert Christensen of Randall, Minnesota, Mrs. Morris Christensen of Herman, Mrs. Peter Anderson of Herman and Mrs. Walter Wachter of Rosalie.

ALBERT W. PEDERSEN DIES

Albert W. Pedersen of Craig, brother of Henry Pedersen of Blair, passed away Wednesday, July 2nd. The cause of his death was accidental while driving his farm tractor. Just how the accident happened seems to be a mystery.

Deceased was born in this county March 12, 1891 where he grew to maturity receiving his early education in the district school in the Brodersen school district west of Herman. On February 11, 1914 he was married to Miss Katie Petersen, and to them five children were born, all of whom, with the wife, survive.

To those who knew him, he was a good friend and neighbor, industrious and upright in his dealings, and he leaves a host of friends who, with the family, mourn his passing.

Funeral services were held July 5th at the home at 1:00 p.m. and at the Rose Hill church in this county at 2:30, and interment was made in the Rose Hill cemetery with Rev. Paul Wiegman of Tekamah officiating.
