LAWRENCE H. LAAKER, 83

Services for Lawrence H. Laaker, 83 of Arlington who died June 21, 1992 at Arbor Manor in Fremont will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 24 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. Rev. Michael L. Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery near the church.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home and one hour before the time of the service at the church.

Lawrence H. Laaker was born July 17, 1908 in rural Arlington. He lived all his life in the Arlington area, farming until his retirement in 1973. He was also a Dekalb Seed Corn dealer. He enjoyed woodworking and refinishing as a hobby.

He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington; the Lutheran Laymen’s League and served on several church committees.

He married Marian H. Nelson January 24, 1943 at Kennard, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lena Schiermeyer Laaker; brothers, Henry, Albert and William and sisters, Annie Heybrock, Emma Stork, Alvina Thompson and Melinda Laaker.

He is survived by his wife, Marian; two sons, Leroy of Arlington and Richard of Fairfield, Nebraska; two daughters, Ann (Mrs. Robert) Babcock of Blair and Mary (Mrs. Herman) Tenhoff of Ayer, Nebraska; two brothers, Obert Laaker of Bennington and Leonard Laaker of Blair; one sister, Mrs. Caroline Jensen of Blair and 13 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Babcock, Daniel Babcock, Brian Laaker, Scott Laaker, Mark Moorman and Matthew Moorman.

Honorary pallbearers are Christopher Camden, Luke Tenhoff and John Tenhoff.

Memorials may go to the church or the American Cancer Society.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
