MARIAN H. LAAKER, 76

Marian H. Laaker, 76, of Arlington, died Friday, May 28, 1999, at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha.

Services were Tuesday, June 1, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. The Rev. Dr. Michael L. Rogers officiated. Burial was in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Pallbearers were David and Daniel Babcock, Brian and Scott Laaker, Mark and Matthew Moorman, and Luke and John Tenhoff.

Marian H. Laaker was born April 16, 1923, to Albert and Louise (Wrey) Nelson in Kennard.

She grew up in Kennard and graduated from Kennard High School.

On Jan. 24, 1943, she married Lawrence H. Laaker in Kennard.

The couple lived on a farm northeast of Arlington until 1969, when they moved to Arlington.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aide, and a long-time member of the Extension Club.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Leroy and Kathleen Laaker of Arlington, and Richard and Lynn Laaker of Fairfield; daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Robert Babcock of Blair, and Mary and Herman Tenhoff of Ayr; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, who died June 21, 1992; and her twin sister, Madalyn Lallmann.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.
