NORMA LAAKER

Bennington - - The funeral for Norma Laaker, 82, of Bennington, will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Zion Lutheran Church in Omaha.

She died Thursday, July 9, 1998, at Arbor Manor Living Center in Fremont.

Norma Echtenkamp was born Jan. 8, 1916, at Arlington. She married Obert Laaker Aug. 2, 1934, at Arlington. She worked in the laundry department at the Douglas County Hospital.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Maxine Altic and Betty Pruess, both of Bennington; a son, Donald Laaker of Bennington; four brothers, Alan (and wife, Sue) Echtenkamp of Indiana, Dale (and wife, Mary) Echtenkamp of Fremont, Harlan (and wife, Wilma) Echtenkamp of Connecticut, and Lyle (and wife, Marilyn) Echtenkamp of Tennessee; a sister, Violet Kull of Fremont; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Thomas Schmidt will officiate Sunday’s service. Visitation will be noon to 8 p.m. Saturday at Haden-Golden-Reichmuth Mortuary in Bennington. Burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery at Arlington.

A memorial has been established to the church.
