FERN E. (LAUTRUP) LACOMBE, 69

Fern E. Lacombe, 69, of Abilene, Texas, died Sept. 23, 2005. No services were held.

Fern Eileen Lautrup Lacombe was born Oct. 2, 1935, in Blair to Edward and Ruth Lautrup. She grew up in Kennard and graduated from Kennard High School.

She married Fernand Lacombe on March 16, 1955, in Blair. The couple moved to Abilene in 1991.

Mrs. Lacombe was active in silk floral design, ceramics, and was known as a wonderful cook.

She is survived by her husband, Fernand; four sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Lacombe of Abilene, David and Randi Lacombe of North Pole, Alaska, Randall and Merites Lacombe of Gulfport, Miss., and Steven and Caren Lacombe of Omaha; two daughters and sons-in-law, Julie and Scott Thompson and Kathleen and Bryan Thompson, all of Elkhorn; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Karen Lautrup of Hoblis, N.M., and Donald and Carol Lautrup of Blair; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Darlene Quick and Carla and Ron Johnson, all of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a younger brother, Mark Lautrup.
