Funeral services for Ruth Quist were held Monday at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Noel McLaren officiating.

Ruth died at the Good Shepherd Home on Friday, June 30, 1989, at the age of 92.

Ruth Quist was born on March 30, 1897, on a farm northwest of Blair to Robert and Eva Sutherland Hooks. She married Hjalmer Quist on June 14, 1916. With the exception of a few years they lived on the same farm for 60 years.

After Hjalmer’s death in July of 1979, Ruth moved to Blair. For the last four years she has resided in the Good Shepherd Home.

Ruth is survived by two nieces and two nephews Evelyn Faulkner, Blair, and Margie Perry, of Florida; and Leo Hooks, Lyons, Nebraska, and Ray Hooks of Tucson, Arizona. She is also survived by great-nephews and great-nieces along with other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother John Hooks and one sister Hazel Hagge.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
