HOWARD LADD FUNERAL FRIDAY

EX-BLAIR MAN, 42, DIED IN LOS ANGELES; FUNERAL TO BE HELD HERE

Howard (Huck) Ladd, 42, former Blairite and son of Mrs. Mabel Ladd of 500 East Park St., died suddenly Monday in Los Angeles. Death was caused by a heart attack. Mr. Ladd had become ill shortly after eating in a restaurant.

After brief services there yesterday, the body was brought to Blair by air, arriving today. Funeral services are to be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Bendorf Funeral Home, burial to follow in Blair Cemetery.

Son of Enoch and Mabel Ladd, Howard Ladd was born Nov. 17, 1905, and lived in Blair until 1940, when he went to California. He was overseer of a painting crew in Los Angeles. He was never married.

Surviving Mr. Ladd are his mother, Mrs. Mabel Ladd of Blair; four brothers, Floyd of Gary, Ind., Earl and Curtis of Los Angeles; and Renard of Blair; and three sisters, Mrs. Anna Clark of Twin Falls, Idaho, Mrs. Alice Gustin of Blair, and Mrs. Margaret Bartlett of El Monte, Calif. His father died ten months ago.
