FORMER CALHOUN RESIDENT DIES IN NEW MEXICO
Barney LaFave, 43, of Tucumcari, New Mexico, passed away suddenly last Wednesday night in Tucumcari of an apparent heart attack. Mr. LaFave will be remembered by many Fort Calhoun area residents, as the LaFaves who lived in Fort Calhoun from 1963 to 1970. He was a truck driver and also built the Dairy Sweet in Fort Calhoun.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy; a son, Terry of Cheyenne, Wyoming; and two daughters, Diane and Dawn, at home.
Funeral services were held Saturday in Tucumcari. Other services and burial were to be held in Oneida, South Dakota on Monday.
