Neil K. Stanley, 81

Funeral service for Neil Stanley, 81, of Omaha, were held Monday, July 7, 2003, at the First Baptist Church in Blair. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Omaha. Mr. Stanley died Thursday, July 3, at his residence.

Neil K. Stanley was born May 29, 1922, in Omaha to George E. and Belva (Wilde) Stanley. He graduated from Blair High School and continued his education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and at South Dakota State University at Brookings. At the time of his death, he was working for the Iowa Lamb Corporation as a livestock broker.

He was married to Arlene Dwyer, who preceded him in death in 1983. In 1985, he married Blanche O’Hanlon.

Mr. Stanley was a member of the Blair Masonic Lodge for more than 60 years.

He is survived by his wife, Blanche; daughter and son-in-law, Margo and Steve Mihalec of Goleta, Calif., two grandchildren; sister, Nila Legenhausen of Blair; step-children and families, Patricia and Dr. Gary Goldsmith of Arlington, Mass., Michal and Mary Jo O’Hanlon of Blair, Kevin and Beth O’Hanlon of Lincoln, Tom O’Hanlon and Kay Young, both of Blair, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Kathleen Sorensen.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
