Walter E. Stork, 88

Walter E. “Wally” Stork, 88, of Arlington, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2003, at the Fremont Area Medical Center.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington with the Rev. Rick Kanoy officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday with the family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home. Visitation will also be held at St. Paul’s Church, one hour prior to services.

Walter E. Stork was born March 4, 1915, at the family farm north of Arlington to William and Louisa (Kroeger) Stork. He grew up and lived on the family farm, where he farmed until retiring in 1988. He moved into Arlington in 1969. After he retired, he worked for Gnuse Construction in Arlington for several years.

On Dec. 26, 1970, he married Arlene D. (Hass) Rasmussen at the First Lutheran Church in Fremont.

Mr. Stork was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the Walther League; he was also a member of the Sinning Wheels Square Dance Club and the Arlington Senior Center.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene, step-daughter and husband, Cheryl Ann Rasmussen Dunbar and Kevin Dunbar of Wahoo; a brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Verna Stork of Lincoln; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Leonard Stork.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Endowment Fund and to the Arlington Senior Center.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington is in charge of arrangements.
