Services Are Held for Peter Stricklett

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 18, at First United Methodist Church for Peter Stricklett, 72, who died June 16, 1983, at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

The Rev. Gordon Patterson officiated. Burial was in Blair Cemetery.

Peter Stricklett was born June 27, 1910, in DeSoto, Nebraska, to Peter and Esther B. Bouvier Stricklett. He attended elementary and high school in Blair.

On July 31, 1921, he married Pearl Svendgaard in Blair.

He operated the Standard Oil Station for many years. He had been the Washington County Building Inspector for the last few years.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Odd Fellows, Danish Brotherhood, was a past charter member of the Lions Club and was secretary of the Masonic Lodge. He had served several years as Worthy Patron of the McKinley Chapter No. 161 Order of Eastern Star.

He is survived by his wife, Pearl; one son, Ronald, Salt Lake City, Utah; and three daughters, Mrs. Gary (Mary Beth) Johnson, Omaha, Mrs. Bruce (Susan) DeBoer, Denver; and Mrs. Wayne (Patricia) Stork, Orange, California. Nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Roger Stricklett, Blair; and three sisters, Mary Stricklett, Blair; Dorothy Andersen, Willow Springs, Missouri; Mrs. Inabelle Powell, Fairfax, Virginia; and Sally McVickers, Hastings, Nebraska, also survive him.

Active pallbearers were Kevin Johnson, Bruce McVickers, Joe Peare, Peter Stricklett, Roger P. Stricklett and Steve Tipsword.

Honorary pallbearers were Pat Allen, Dr. Donald Ehlers, Kenneth Jensen, Merton Jensen, Richard Johnson, Gordon Kempcke, J. Merton Kuhr, J. Stuart Maurer, Howard Thompson and Harold Rabbaas.

Kathy Flynn was organist. Keith Hightree was vocalist.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
