Rites For Mrs. Sutherland

Mrs. Abe Sutherland Dies, Age 69; Rites At The Methodist Church

Mrs. A. J. (Abe) Sutherland, resident of this community virtually all her life, died Friday noon at the family home. Mrs. Sutherland, 69, had suffered a stroke earlier in the day.

The Sutherlands had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last fall.

The body of Mrs. Sutherland was taken to the Campbell Mortuary. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at First Methodist Church, with the Rev. Melvon Ireland officiating. Interment was in Blair Cemetery.

Bertha Lee McCoy was born in Washington County Nov. 29, 1885, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George McCoy. She and Mr. Sutherland were married Sept. 23*, 1904, and to them were born two sons.

Surviving are the husband, Abe; two sons, Hugh A. and John W. Sutherland, both of Blair; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Bryan McCoy of Sutherlin, Ore., and two sisters, Mrs. Holger Ilansen and Mrs. Evelyn Mayes, both of Omaha.
