Death Result From Tractor and Harrow Accident Eight Weeks Ago

Clarence Wachter, 61, of Herman, died early Sunday morning at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, where he had been after suffering severe injuries as a result of a farm accident eight weeks ago.

Private funeral rites, with only Mr. Wachter’s relatives attending, were held 11 a.m. yesterday at Campbell’s Mortuary. Public rites were held at 2 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Blair with the Rev. Robert Wigert of Herman, assisted by the Rev. H.C. Jorgensen of Blair, in charge of services. Burial was in Orum Cemetery.

Mr. Wachter suffered severe head injuries eight weeks ago when a harrow, which he was pulling with a tractor, caught on the tractor wheels and struck him.

Clarence Wachter was born in 1889 on the farm where he had lived his entire life. He was the son of Anton and Theresa Wachter.

Mr. Wachter and Tena Petersen were married in September, 1919, in Fremont and to this union five children were born, of whom three survive.

He is survived by his widow; a son, Jack; two daughters Marilyn and Joan; a twin brother, Walter of Jackson, Nebr.; two half-sisters, Mrs. Laura Wachter of Pender and Miss Anna Fuss of Herman; and two grandsons.

CLARENCE WACHTER DIED JULY 9TH

Herman - Following an illness of eight weeks caused by an accident with a tractor and harrow at his home, Mr. Wachter passed away at the Methodist hospital in Omaha Sunday morning, July 9, 1950.

He was born June 14, 1889 on the farm where he has lived all his life. His parents were the late Anton and Theresa Wachter, who preceded him in death several years ago.

Mr. Wachter and Tena Petersen were married September 4, 1919, and to this union five children were born.

Frederick Jack Wachter of Herman; Marilyn who works in Omaha; and Joan who is employed in Blair. Lila Margaret passed away at the age of six weeks and an infant son who lived only a few hours.

Clarence was a kind father, a good neighbor and was loved and respected by all who knew him.

He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, Tena, daughters Marilyn and Joan, son, Jack; a twin brother, Walter Wachter, two half sisters, Mrs. Laura Wachter of Pender and Miss Anna Fuese of Herman. Two grandsons, Tommy and Gary Lee Wachter and many relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral services were held Wednesday at the Danish Lutheran Church in Blair with burial in the Orum cemetery, Reverend Robert Wigert had charge of the service, assisted by Rev. Harold C. Jorgensen. The singers were Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Goll of Blair. The pallbearers were six nephews of Mr. Wachter.
