Services Are On Thursday For Ethel Wachter

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 11, at 2 p.m. at the Baptist Church in Herman for Ethel A. Wachter, 93, who died at Crowell Home on September 7, 1980. Rev. Barbara Schenkel will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery.

Ethel A. Wachter was born July 17, 1887, in Washington County to Mr. and Mrs. James Matthews. Her mother’s maiden name was Fletcher.

She taught school. She was married to Bernhard Wachter, who preceded her in death in 1953.

Three sons, Roland, James and Kenneth also preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son, Leo Wachter, Edina, Minnesota; seven grandchildren, John and Michael Wachter of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dr. Dick Wachter of Tucson, Arizona, Mrs. Harold (Janet) Nelson of Herzo Air Base, Germany; Dr. Ronald Wachter, Springfield, Missouri, Mrs. Keith (Patricia) Andersen, Herman and Keith Wachter of Omaha; ten great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
