Ruth E. Taylor, 86

Ruth E. Taylor, 86, of Bend, Ore., died July 21, 2003, in Bend. Memorial services are planned for a later date.

Ruth Elaine Spadt Taylor was born Aug. 2, 1916, in Crete to Ida and Rolland Spadt. She graduated from Crete High School in 1933 and attended the University of Nebraska.

On Dec. 2, 1939, she married Joseph Keith Taylor in Chicago, Ill. The couple lived in Blair their entire married life. Mrs. Taylor worked as a secretary for O’Hanlon Law Office, the Blair School Board, and the City Clerk’s office.

She was a 50-year member of the First Methodist Church and a 40-year member of the V.F.W., and was active in other community organizations.

Mrs. Taylor had been living in Bend for the past eight years to be near her daughter and son-in-law, Sally Jo and Mervin Fleming. She is also survived by a sister, Evelyn Lambertz of Blair.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, and a son, Lee.

Friends are invited to a “celebration of life” to be held in memory of Ruth E. Taylor at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at First United Methodist Church in Blair.

Mrs. Taylor, 86, of Bend, Ore., died July 21, 2003, in Bend.
