Justin N. Andersen, 18 of Omaha and formerly of Blair, died as the result of an automobile accident north of Bennington Wednesday, July 30, 1997.
Services were Monday at Roeder Mortuary in Omaha. Pastor Kelly Birks of Messiah Church officiated. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Andersen was born Oct. 24, 1978 in Papillion, Neb. to Nicholas H. and Lynette L. Andersen. He at tended Blair Junior/Senior High School for three years before transferring to North High School in Omaha to complete his schooling. He graduated in May 1997, earning a scholarship from his mother's place of employment (Guarantee Life Insurance Co.) to the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he planned to study chemical engineering.
He was an honor roll student and active in football, soccer and track. During his senior year at North High, his classmates chose him a prom king.
He did carpentry work with his father, Nicholas.
He was a member of Messiah Church in Omaha.
He is survived by his parents, Nicholas Andersen and Lynette Andersen; his step-mother, Stephanie Andersen; sisters, Heather Andersen, Sarah Andersen, a step-sister, Lisa Riede; stepbrothers, Aaron Riede and Jon Riede, all of Omaha; and his special love, Dana Svenson; his grandparents, Jim and Neva Davis, Phoenix, Ariz.; Elaine Andersen, Omaha; a niece, Muranda Andersen, Omaha; several uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frederick H. and Idyelle P. Andersen.
Pallbearers were his father, Nicholas; a cousin, Lacton Boschult; friends, Brian Stava, Josh Flott, Dave Vice; and his North High football coach, Rob Mason.
