Frederick Tookey

Fred Tookey died at a hospital in Omaha yesterday and the body will be taken to his old home at Hooper for burial Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock.

He had been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. J. C. Christensen, in Omaha for the past 17 months. He owned a farm in the northwest part of the county for a good many years, Hooper being his post office. He was 73 years of age.

His wife, whose death occurred seven years ago, was a sister of Wm. And Robert Wilson, Mrs. Solomon Barton, and Mrs. W. M. Charlotte, all of this city. He leaves four sons, Fred W. and Wm. R. of Hooper, George A. of Sioux City and Harvey H. of Fremont. Also five daughters, Mrs. Christensen, of Omaha, Mrs. L. E. Davies, of Hooper, Mrs. Harvey Schaffer, of North Bend, Mrs. E. F. Marshall, of Washougal, Wash., and Mrs. Harold Wilding, of Alderville, Ont., Canada. A brother and a sister lives in Chicago.

FORMER WASHINGTON COUNTY CITIZEN CALLED

Fred Tookey, 73, a retired farmer, and formerly a resident of this county, died at the Lord Lister hospital in Omaha last Monday.

Mr. Tookey was for a number of years a resident of the Sutherland school district and the director of the school. About twenty-five years ago he sold his farm and with his family moved to the Hooper neighborhood and when he retired from farming, made Hooper his place of abode.

His wife died some years back and he has of late made his home with his daughter in Omaha. He has been ill for some time, suffering from diabetes which finally claimed its victim. The body will be taken to Hooper for burial, the funeral services being held at the M. E. church of that city at 2 P.M.

Surviving are four sons, Fred W. and William R. of Hooper; George A. of Sioux City; and Harvey H. of Fremont; and five daughters, Mrs. Christensen, Mrs. L. E. Davies of Hooper; Mrs. Harvey Shaffer of North Bend; Mrs. E. F. Marshall of Washougal, Wash.; and Mrs. Harold Wilding of Alderville, Ont. Canada.
