After an illness of ten days of gastric catarrh, N. B. Weber departed this life yesterday, at 1:20 o’clock, at his home in this city. Napoleon Bonaparte Weber was born July 10, 1847, in Genesee County, New York, where he lived until the age of 16 years. When the war broke out he enlisted and joined a regiment of Mounted Rifles, serving until the close of the Civil War. He was with Sheridan and it was at the battle of Dinwiddie Court House, Virginia, March 31, 1865, that he lost his arm. After the close of the war, 1866, he moved to Iowa, where he was married and lived until 1884, when he took up his residence in South Dakota. He served as Registrar of Deed in South Dakota for a number of years. Seven years ago, with his wife, he moved to Blair where he has since lived. He was a member of the G.A.R. and was a good friend and neighbor and respected by all who knew him. The remains will be shipped tomorrow to DeWitt, Iowa, for interment. – Monday’s Pilot.
