#2 Sept. 28, 1893- The Pilot-

Benjamin Franklin Wells (Veteran)

DIED

WELLS- On the morning of Sept. 24, 1893, of heart disease, Benjamin Franklin Wells, aged 48 years, 6 months.

He had been gradually failing for a year or so past, but had only been confined to his bed about a week prior to his death, which is a sad blow to his devoted wife who is left entirely alone in her bereavement. His remains were followed to the grave by a large concourse of friends and old soldiers, escorted by John A. Dix Post of which he was a member, and by whom he was buried. Mr. Wells served three years in the 3rd Wis. Cavalry, and never was a sound man after his discharge, but did not put in any claim for a pension until about six months ago, and was expecting very soon to receive the same. He was a quiet unobtrusive man, well liked by all who knew him, and sympathy of the community will go out _________.
