Madeline “Madge” Whitney

Blair native Madeline Whitney died July 22, 2003, in Pass Christian, Miss.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 26, at Staskiewicz Chapel, 4018 “L” Street, Omaha, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas More Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Omaha. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 25, with a rosary at 7 p.m.

Madeline “Madge” Whitney was the daughter of Lillian and Michael Thompson of Blair. She attended Cuming City School and Blair High School.

She was married to Thomas Whitney of Omaha for 61 years; during most of their marriage, the couple lived in Omaha. Mrs. Whitney was a lifelong faithful Catholic and was a charter member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother and friend, and was loved by many.

She is survived by her husband, Tom; three children and their spouses, Lowell and Diane Whitney of Arvada, Colo., Josephine and Kenneth Johns of Pass Christian, Miss., and Dennis and Mary Whitney of Littleton, Colo.; nine grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, a sister-in-law, and cousins.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Staskiewicz Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
