DEAN A. LALLMAN

Dean A. Lallman, 76, of rural Arlington, died April 28, 2008, as the result of a farm accident.

Funeral services were Friday, May 2, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Hooper. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Dean Ardell Lallman was born Aug. 6, 1931, on the family farm north of Arlington, to George and Cora (Brandert) Lallman.

He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Hooper. He attended elementary school at Vacoma and Immanuel Lutheran Church. He then attended Hooper High School and, after the death of his father, he returned to run the family farm.

In January of 1956, he married Lynn Leptien at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Mr. and Mrs. Lallman farmed for 52 years.

Mr. Lallman served as a trustee at Immanuel Lutheran and also served on numerous committees.

His greatest joys were his family, “teaching” his grandchildren to eat ice cream, life on the farm and an occasional Sunday ride on the Harley with his sons.

He is survived by his wife, Lynn; sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis A. and Rebecca L. Lallman, and Wayne D. and Angela K. Lallman, all of Omaha; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa M. and Scott Swanson of O’Fallon, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; three brothers, Burnell of Fremont, Robert of Blair, and Russell of Salt Lake City, Utah; sister and brother-in-law, Corrine and John Barton of Torrence, Calif.; five nieces, numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter; a niece, Deborah Barton; and sister-in-law, Margaret Lallman.

Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. ~~~Obituaries courtesy of the Nebraska Washington County Genealogical Society. Newspaper clippings on file in the Blair, Nebraska Public Library~~~
