Mrs. Catherine Wulff died at her home in Dexterville last Friday at the advanced age of 91 years, 7 months and 5 days. The funeral was held Monday, Rev. W. H. Underwood officiating. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery.

Catherine H. Schneider was born in Kell, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, June 2nd, 1831, coming to this country with her parents in 1852, locating at Davenport, Ia. On March 28th, 1854, she was united in marriage to Claus H. Wulff at Moline, Ill., where they resided for about five years.

In the spring of 1859 she came to Nebraska to join her husband, who had preceded her the previous year, to their future home. Since that time she had made her home continuously in Washington County, where with her husband, they proved up on a homestead, about 10 miles south of Blair, and where the family lived until 1892 when they moved to this city. Her husband passed away April 14, 1897.

She leaves to mourn her death, one daughter, Mrs. F. G. Ebener, of Denver, Colo., and six sons: William, of Los Angeles, Edward and Gus of Omaha, Henry, of Blair, and Herman and Frank of Colorado Springs, Colo. Besides these children, she took into her home when small, Alta Knight, now Mrs. J. C. Fletcher, residing in Lakeland, Fla., and Mrs. Ruth Gaydou of this city, whom she reared and educated in the local schools. One son, Charley, died June 23, 1890, and one daughter, Mrs. Julia Schroeder, died June 17, 1921. She is also survived by one half-sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Jipp of Calhoun and two half-brothers, Charley Gottsch, of Bennington, Neb., and Peter Gottsch, of Oklahoma and 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

MRS. CATHRINA M. WULFF PASSES TO GREAT BEYOND

Catherine M. Schneider was born near Keil, Schleswig Holstein, Germany June 28, 1831, and passed away in Blair, Nebraska February 2, 1923, aged 91 years, 7 months and 5 days.

With her parents she came to America in 1852, locating at Davenport, Iowa and on March 28, 1854 she was married to Claus H. Wulff at Moline, Illinois where they made their home for five years.

In the spring of 1859 the family came to this county where they resided on a homestead about ten miles south of this city. It was here that the family was reared and since the arrival in 1859 this has been her home.

In 1892 the family moved to Blair where she resided until her death. Her husband passed away in April, 1897.

She leaves to mourn her death one daughter, Mrs. F. G. Evener of Denver, Colorado and six sons: William of Los Angeles, California; Edward and Gus of Omaha; Henry of Blair; and Herman and Frank of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Besides these she took into her home when small Alta Knight, now Mrs. J. C. Fletcher, residing in Lakeland, Florida and Mrs. Ruth Gaydou of Blair, both of whom she reared and educated in the local schools.

One son, Charley died June 23, 1890 and one daughter, Mrs. Julia Schroeder, died June 17, 1921.

Funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Methodist church, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.

Note: The Blair Cemetery listing has the name as Catharena; Blk 16 Lot 4 Grave 11. Death date was 2 Dec. 1923. There is conflicting information in the newspaper articles and headstone death date but this seems to be the same lady.
