Miss Frances Gross Passes Wednesday

Word reached Blair Wednesday that Miss Frances Gross had passed away and that the body would be brought to Blair, her old home, for interment.

She belonged to one of the oldest families in Blair, her father being in the livery business here some sixty years ago. Afterwards, he served as sheriff of the county.

Raised and educated here, she has many old friends who will grieve to hear of her death. She taught school in the county and was for a number of years one of the Blair school faculty and for a much longer time a member of the Omaha school faculty. Having served as teacher in the Omaha schools the allotted time, she retired on a pension but her health failed her and she was never able to enjoy her well-earned rest.

She was a woman of remarkable ability and her ability and energy carried her through a busy life until her health failed her.

Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Bendorf Funeral Home and interment will be made in the Blair Cemetery.

Note: Since the actual death date was not given, the news article date was used.
