MARTHA M. “MARTY” LAMBERT, 85

Martha M. Lambert, 85, of Blair, died June 22, 2004, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 25, at the United Methodist Church in Craig. Interment will be in the Danish Cemetery in rural Plainview.

Martha M. Lambert was born Nov. 1, 1918, to James K. and Jennie (Christiansen) Miller, on a homestead southeast of Plainview. During her younger years, she lived on the same farm. She attended country school during her grade school years and graduated from Plainview High School in 1933.

On June 1, 1940, she married William “Fritz” Lambert at Foster. They moved often during their early years of marriage. In 1964, they moved to Craig, where Mrs. Lambert spent most of her time being a good mom and, to most in Craig, a good cook and baker. She worked as a cook in two cafes in Craig, and a bar and grill in Kennard before retiring.

In the fall of 2000, she moved from her home in Craig to an apartment in Oakland, where she lived until spring of this year.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Boyd and Dixie Lambert of Kennard; daughters and sons-in-law, Bev Knight of Craig, Kay and Ken Elsasser of Oakland, Allyn Allison of Tekamah; 13 grandchildren; several great and great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Helen Miller of Plainview.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fritz; daughter, Marva Allison; three brothers, Carl, Irvan and Walter Miller; four sisters, Zeta, Baby Zeta, Mary Miller and Dimer Johnson.

Memorials are suggested to the Craig Fire Hall or Craig United Methodist Church.

Palmquist-Pelan Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
