B. Dean Ellis, 65

Former Blair resident B. Dean Ellis of South Bend, Ind., died Sept 13, 2004, at the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend.

Funeral services were Sept. 17 in Omaha. Interment was at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha.

B. Dean Ellis was born Jan. 6, 1939, in Humeston, Iowa, to Howard and Irene Ellis. He graduated from Cambria High School in Iowa in 1956.

While living in Blair, Mr. Ellis and his wife, the late Elaine Ellis, owned the B-Line Motel and Blair Carpet and Draperies. Mr. Ellis also served on the Blair City Council, was president of the Optimist Club, and was active in the Republican party. He was a member of First Lutheran Church.

His family remembers him as a man of strong faith who loved his family and the Lord.

He is survived by his wife, Patty Ellis of South Bend; daughter and son-in-law, Darci and Mark Watkins of Omaha; son and daughter-in-law, Darin and Tina Ellis of Omaha; brother and sister-in-law, Donovan and Barb Ellis of Pierce; four step-children and 11 grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife, Elaine, he was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Karen Shivley.

Funeral Service Fri. 10am, Victory Church (56th & Redick). Visitation Thurs. 6-8 pm at Braman Mortuary. Interment Forest Lawn.
