WAYNE H. LAMBERTZ, 76
Services for Wayne Lambertz, age 76 of Blair, who died at Memorial Community Hospital February 27, 1995, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 2 at First United Methodist Church in Blair, with burial in the Blair Cemetery.
Wayne H. Lambertz was born September 15, 1918 at Emerson, Iowa to Herbert and Ethel Campbell Lambertz. He graduated from Red Oak, Iowa High School.
He moved to Blair in 1938 to work for the Safeway Stores. In 1943, he started working at the Washington County Bank where he stayed until he retired in 1983.
He was City treasurer for over 25 years, treasurer of the Blair School District for over 25 years, a 50-year member of Blair Masonic Lodge, 50-year member of First United Methodist Church, Past Patron of the Order of Eastern Star, past president of the Blair Lions club and Zone Chairman for the Lions Club, as well as being a 50-year member. In 1994 he was recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow Award, which was presented by the Lions International.
On May 29, 1942, he married Evelyn Spadt in Blair.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill.
Surviving him in death are his wife, Evelyn of Blair; two brothers, Clyde Lambertz, Goodland, Kansas and Glenn Lambertz, Lucerne Valley, California; one sister, Evelyn Hopkins, Kirkland, Washington and six nephews.
Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church or Lions Eye Foundation in care of Blair Lions Club.
