Barbara J. Ellis, 63, of Reno, Nev., died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at the Eldorado Convalescent Hospital in Placerville, Calif.

Memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 8200 N. 30th St., in Omaha, with Father Tom Greisen officiating. There will be no visitation. Interment will be at the Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.

Barbara J. (Bauer) Ellis was born Oct. 21, 1937, in Nodaway, Iowa, to Alvin and Minnie B. Bauer. She moved to Nebraska with her parents in 1947, and lived near Wahoo, Mead and Valley until moving to Blair in 1955. She was a 1955 graduate of Blair High School.

Following her marriage to Jerry Ellis, the couple lived in Fort Calhoun and the Omaha area.

In 1977, she moved to California, and had been living in Reno for the last few years.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Sally Ellis of Omaha and Timothy and Cristi Ellis of Sacramento, Calif., three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy Mitchell of Redding, Calif., Patricia and Jerry Dalrymple of Igo, Calif., and Susan and Brian Beaudette of Placerville, Calif., her father, Alvin Bauer of Blair, a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Betty Bauer of Fremont, sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Paul Thanasides of Tampa, Fla., 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Bauer, her husband, Jerry Ellis, and a brother, Norman Bauer.

Memorials are suggested to St. Philip Neri Educational Fund, 8200 No. 30th St., Omaha, NE 68112. Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
