Funeral services were Friday, June 22, at Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah for Bessie M. Grothe, 83, of Good Shepherd Home who died June 26, 1990, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. Rev. Bailey of the Methodist Church in Tekamah officiated. Burial was in the Herman Cemetery.

Bessie M. Grothe was born August 26, 1906, in Burt County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Osburn of Craig, Nebraska. She lived most of her life in Burt and Washington Counties.

She was a member of the Methodist Alder Grove Church of Craig.

She married Harry Grothe, Sr., January 23, 1943. She had three step-sons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Ella Osburn; and Opil Osburn, Millie Weber, Evelyn Christiansen and Lois Ledbetter.

She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Grace Newkirk, Blair; Mrs. Rachel Mengedoht, Fremont; and Mrs. Charlotte Odle, Hooper, Nebraska; and several nieces and nephews.

Hamel & Peck Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
