Oscar Grothe Died At Good Shepherd Monday

Oscar Grothe, a long-time farmer of Washington County, died at the Good Shepherd Home last Monday, October 18th. He was 86 years of age.

The deceased was born at Tekamah May 23, 1885, but had lived in Washington County for many years. He was a farmer by trade until his retirement some years ago.

He is survived by three sons and a daughter. His wife preceded him in death.

The sons are John Grothe and Ernest Grothe of Omaha, and Oscar Grothe, Jr. of Cozad, Nebraska. The daughter is Mrs. Marjorie Green. She lives in California.

Brothers and sisters are Floyd Green and Mrs. Walter Hampton of Omaha and Carl Green and Mrs. Bessie Zander, both of Herman. There are 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are being held this afternoon (Thursday) at the Campbell Mortuary. The Rev. Robert Albers will conduct the service and burial will be made in the Blair Cemetery.

The pallbearers are all grandsons of the deceased man. They are Glen Green, Jr., Don Grothe, Jim Grothe, Ronnie Grothe, Frank Grothe and John Grothe, all of this area.
