One-Time Blair Man Died At Portland, Sept. 24

Floyd D. Grover, 65, of Portland, Ore., a former Blair resident, died at a Portland Hospital on Sept. 24. He had been in ill health for the past several years. Funeral services were at the Jacobsen Funeral Home in Portland on Sept. 28.

The son of Mort G. and Bertha Coulter Grover, he was born on a farm southwest of Blair on Jan. 19, 1905. Mr. Grover grew up in the Blair community and attended Washington County Schools. He was married to Anna Maude Coulter on Feb. 14, 1934. She survives. He had been a resident of Portland for the past 25 years where he had been an employee of the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring in 1964.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by five brothers, Roy M. and Lloyd R., of Bellevue; Merl B. of Ottumwa, Iowa; Charles I. of Omaha and Mort G. of Blair. Another brother, George F., died during World War II from illness contracted while he was a prisoner of war in Germany.
