Mort G. Grover, 77

Mort G. Grover, 77, of Scribner, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at the Good Samaritan Center in Scribner.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. The Rev. Lavon Gaskin will officiate. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Omaha.

Visitation will be held Feb. 14 from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Mort G. Grover was born Dec. 12, 1923, in Bennington to Mort George and Margaret Ann (Fish) Grover. He grew up in Kennard and the Benson areas.

On May 26, 1945, he married Mabel Dembowski at Creston, Iowa. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Omaha, Blair and Kennard, before moving to Scribner in 1981. Mr. Grover was a self-employed drywall finisher most of his life; he retired in 1996.

He is survived by his wife, Mabel, a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Linda Grover of Blair, a daughter, Beverly L. Johnson of Omaha, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Floyd, Roy, Lloyd, Merle, George and Charles Grover.

Moser Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
