Former Blair resident Ernest J. Ellis, 87, of Bellevue, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2008, at the Eastern Nebraska Veterans Home in Bellevue.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, Nov. 25, at the Veterans Home.

Ernest J. Ellis was born on Feb. 5, 1921, in Providence, R.I., to William and Mary (Wells) Ellis.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Mr. Ellis lived in Blair for several years and was a service driver for a car dealership.

He is survived by his two sons, Ernest D. Ellis of Omaha and Charles Ellis of Blair; two daughters, Beatrice Goughler of Butler, Penn., and Judy May McGillvray of Hawthorne, Nev.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cecile.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
