Alice N. Gunderson, 89

Former Twin Lakes, Minn., resident Alice N. Gunderson, 89, died Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at St. John’s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea, Minn.

Funeral services were Saturday, March 30, at Lunder Lutheran Church in Albert Lea with the Rev. Paul R. Gilbertson officiating. Interment was at the Lunder Lutheran Cemetery.

Alice Noretta Gunderson was born Feb. 9, 1913, in Worth County, Iowa, to Carl Adolph and Betsy Mary (Flaten) Ringstad. She grew up in the Emmons area.

On Oct. 15, 1933, she married Carlisle O. Gunderson at the Emmons Lutheran Church. The couple lived and farmed in the Twin Lakes area most of their lives until moving to St. John’s. Mrs. Gunderson was a member of Lunder Lutheran Church and was very active in various organizations in the church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing and cooking.

She is survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and David Grande of Mankato, Minn., Gloria and Wally Johnson of Englewood, Colo., Phyllis and Paul Gilbertson of Golden, Colo., Pauline and Bernie O’Neil of Chester, Mass., and Lenore and Rich Gregory of Altus, Okla., two sons and daughters-in-law, C. Arlen and Betsy Gunderson of Northglenn, Colo., Lowell and Judy Gunderson of Arlington, 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, sisters and brother-in-law, Mavis and Clare Knutson, and Hazel Wangen, all of Albert Lea, brother, Orville Ringstad, also of Albert Lea, and nieces and nephews.
