Velma B. Gustin, 91, of Fremont, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, at the Fremont Care Center.

Visitation was at 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2000, at the Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 4, 2000, in the Arlington Cemetery. The Rev. Lynn Martin will officiate.

Velma (Pyle) Gustin was born December 11, 1908, in Blair, and grew up in the Herman area.

She married Walter D. Gustin in 1928. The couple lived in several communities, DeSoto and Blair, and later in Arlington, Fremont, and Schuyler. They operated restaurants in Arlington, Blair, Fremont, and Fort Calhoun. Mrs. Gustin also worked as a cook and baker in Arlington and Schuyler.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Walt and Enid of Munds Park, Ariz., and Donald and Judy of Onawa, Iowa; eight grandchildren, and several great and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in December of 1984.

Memorials are suggested to the Fremont Care Center.
