Lucille R. Ellis, age 72, of Lancaster, California, and a former Tekamah resident died at a Lancaster, California Hospital on Saturday, February 4, 1989, after a lengthy illness.

Lucille was born on July 23, 1916, at River Sioux, Iowa, to Joe and Ruth (Harshman) Rickard. She married Paul D. Ellis on February 27, 1950, at Reno, Nevada.

Lucille worked in the Photo Lab at Edwards Air Force Base in Edwards, California, for 27 years prior to her retirement in 1976. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Lodge in Boron, California.

Survivors include her husband, Paul D. Ellis of Lancaster, California; one son, Donald B. Ellis of Reno, Nevada, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Dennis Rickard of Omaha; two nieces, Geraldine Garrison of Santa Cruz, California, and Marilyn Martin of Omaha; and many friends.

Graveside funeral services were held Monday, February 13, at the Tekamah Cemetery with Rev. Marion H. Knoell officiating. Arrangements were handled by the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah.
