H. Lyle Guyer, 93

H. Lyle Guyer was born on Feb. 4, 1895, in Washington County as the eldest child of Oscar A. and Veronica (Miller) Guyer.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Frederick and Burman; and a sister, Glenna.

Lyle graduated from Blair High School and attended Dana College. He married Viva Lippincott on Sept. 21, 1921, in Omaha. Viva passed away in March of 1984.

Survivors include their four children; Lyla Woodworth, Golden, Co., Glen Guyer, Oceanside, Ca., Lee Guyer, Minnetonka, Mn., and Mildred Hill of Huntington, Vt.

Lyle is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Guyer had a varied career including farming, teaching, banking, clerk for Blair Light and Power, many years as a Public Assistance Director, and the remainder as a realtor.

He was a member of the local Methodist Church since 1912, serving in many capacities including the Committee to fund and erect the existing building.

Lyle had a life-long interest in Blair trees and planted many that are treasured today in various locations about the city.

His life came to an end at the Crowell Home where he had resided for the past four and a half years.

Service will be held at the Blair Methodist Church on Friday, No. 25, at 10:30 a.m.

Arrangements are being handled by Campbell Funeral Home and burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Methodist Church or Crowell Home.
