MYRTLE LAMMERS, 86

Myrtle Lammers, 86, of Herman, died Sunday, May 23, 1000, at Blair Memorial Community Hospital.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum.

A prayer service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.

Burial will be in the Orum Cemetery.

Myrtle Christine Paulsen Nelson Lammers was born Jan. 23, 1913, to Paul J. Paulsen and Helena (Nelson) Paulsen in Blair.

At 16, she began her teaching career. She taught for 20 years in rural schools and for 20 years in the Blair Community Schools, while obtaining her teaching degree at Dana College.

On June 8, 1938, she married Harland C. Nelson at First Lutheran Church in Blair.

They had two sons, Donald and Roger. Her husband died on Jan. 2, 1958.

After retiring from teaching, she took up traveling.

She met Henry Lammers of Herman, and they married on Jan. 1, 1986. He died on Jan. 2, 1994.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Orum, the Danish Brotherhood and Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Margaret, and Roger and Donna; grandchildren, Julie, Eric, Scott, Jenny and Joel; great-grandson, Jake; and stepchildren, Stanley Lammers, Patricia Nun, Roberta Fulton, Steve Lammers and their families.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Harland and Henry; brothers, Harvey and Bernard Paulsen; and sisters, Fern Paulsen and LaVerne Sorensen.
