#1-18 May, 1910 - The Pilot - Claus Henry Lamp

Clause H. Lamp died at St. Joseph’s hospital in Omaha last Friday, and was buried Sunday, the funeral service being held at the farm residence about ten miles south of town at 1 o’clock. The cause of death was given as bronchial pneumonia. Mr. Lamp was a son of Henrich Lamp, one of the first settlers in Richland township, whose death occurred Dec. 10, 1879. Claus H. was born in Germany June 24th, 1846, and came to this country with his parents in an early day. Besides the widow, he leaves one daughter, Mrs. Peter Petersen, Mr. Petersen being a brother to Mrs. W. H. Belknap and Miss Hulda Petersen of this city. Also a brother, Hans A. Lamp in this city, Marx Lamp of Bennington, Mrs. P. Goos of Omaha and Mrs. Henry Suverkrubbe, who lives south of town. A number of Blair friends of the deceased went down to attend the funeral.

Claus H. Lamp, who has been suffering with typhoid-pneumonia for the past month, and who was a few weeks ago taken to the St. Joseph hospital in Omaha for treatment, died there last Friday and the funeral was held at the German hall in Richland township last Sunday, Rev. Arndt of Bennington, officiating. Mr. Lamp was about 64 years old and came to this country in 1866, making his home until the time of his death on the farm homesteaded by his parents south of Blair. Besides a wife and daughter, deceased leaves a brother residing at Bennington, Hans A. Lamp, who lives in Blair, and a sister Mrs. Henry Suverkrubbe, who lives in Calhoun township. The Schleswig-Holstein Verein of which the deceased has been an honored member, had charge of the funeral.
