Lynn L. Voss, 62

Lynn L. Voss, 62, of Louisburg, Kan., died Friday, July 13, 2012, at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo., following a 19-month battle with lung cancer.

Memorial services were Sunday, July 22, at South-Broadland Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, Mo.

Lynn L. Voss was born April 22, 1950, in Logan, Iowa, the son of Duke and Bonnie Voss.

He attended Missouri Valley High School in Iowa through his junior year and graduated from Avoca High School in Iowa in May 1968.

After graduating from high school, Lynn joined the United States Navy in 1969 as a communications technician. His last duty assignment was aboard the USS Cascade during the Vietnam War.

Lynn spent his career in sales and management. His free time was spent pursuing his love of golf, fishing the Boundary Waters of Canada and developing his horsemanship skills both in Kansas and at his “second home” in Montana.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cindy (Neiderhiser) Voss of Louisburg, Kan.; daughter, Ashley Voss of Kansas City, Mo.; son, James Voss, of Kansas City, Mo.; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Mick and Ellen Voss of Plano, Texas, and James and Linda Dinsmore of Blair and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Cremation Center of Kansas City in Shawnee Mission, Kan., was in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care in Kansas City, Mo.
