Kenneth Raymond Wakefield died at Northview Villa in Omaha on Jan. 10, 1989, at the age of 75.

Kenneth Wakefield was born in Omaha, NE, March 23, 1913 during a great tornado. On Sept. 19, 1936 he married Dorothy Fischer. Eleven children, five sons and six daughters were born to this union. He was employed at Walt Phillips Basket Factory and ran several service stations before becoming self-employed with his wife, first in a lawn service and then in his wood business.

The family moved to Elkhorn in 1952. He had a large garden and sold fresh vegetables at a stand by the house. He was hospitalized in 1982 after several strokes and then was transferred to Redman Nursing Home in Omaha.

He is survived by sons and their wives, Kenneth and Vicki of Bennington, Howard and Martha of Nashville, TN, Robert and Earlene, Art and Diane, all of Omaha; daughters and their husbands, Phyllis and Olin Chapman, Sharon and Kenneth Glasshoff, Ruth and Jim Ellinger, Dorothy and Tony Cemore of Omaha, Lorraine Gillespie of Elkhorn, Cheryl Grego of Omaha; sisters, Bea Herbaugh of Los Angeles, Kathryn Bean of Granada Hills, CA, Doris Pryors of Kila, MT, Vera Gardner of Sedalia, MO; a brother Howard of Omaha, 28 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, a son, Ronald; brothers, Arthur and Wilmer; and a sister, Ila Doty.

Services were Fri., Jan. 13, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home. Interment was in the Ft. Calhoun Cemetery.
