WIDOW OF PASTOR DIES

MRS. LANG, 85, DIES IN OMAHA; THREE OF HER EIGHT SONS MINISTERS

The widow of a well-known minister in the Missouri synod of the German Lutheran church died Friday in Omaha. She was Mrs. Caroline Katherine Lang, 85, formerly of Hooper and Blair, whose husband, the Rev. J.G. Lang, died here in 1933.

Mrs. Lang, mother of Ernest Lang of near Herman, had a daughter and eight sons. Three of her sons followed their father into the ministry.

Funeral services for the aged ex-Blairite were held Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran church, Hooper, the Rev. Walter Wilkins of Omaha in charge. Interment was at Hooper.

Mrs. Lange, as Caroline K. Deoge, was born at Cleveland, O., in 1862. She and the Rev. Mr. Lang were married at Liverpol, O., Oct. 16, 1884. For several years they served a church at Granton, Wis., then they came to Nebraska to serve at Polk and Rushville. The Rev. Mr. Lang became pastor of Immanuel Lutheran at Hooper in 1898 and served that charge 29 years. The Langs retired in 1927 and moved to Blair, living here for six years on West Grant St., until his death, Oct. 13, 1933.

Surviving Mrs. Lang are one daughter, Mrs. Viola Hildebrandt of Omaha; and eight sons, the Rev. Titus Lang of Quincy, Ill.; Julius Lang of Omaha; Victor Lang of Houston, Tex.; the Rev. Otis Lang of St. Louis; Ernest Lang of Herman; Hugo Lang of Spokane, Wash.; The Rev. Paul Lang of Palo Alto, Calif.; and Martin Lang of Denver. There are 38 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include two sisters and a brother in Cleveland.
