Larry G. Walkenhorst, 64

Larry G. Walkenhorst, 64, of Narka, Kan., died May 7, 2007 at Republic County Hospital in Belleville, Kan. A graveside memorial service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, north of Arlington.

Larry Gene Walkenhorst was born June 9, 1942, in Fremont to Harry and Regina (Ahlemeyer) Walkenhorst. He grew up in Arlington and attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School, where he was confirmed in 1956. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1960.

He served with the U.S, Army in Vietnam.

He was previously employed as a salesman at General Vending Service in Lincoln, operating a vending machine route. He also repaired televisions as a part-time personal business. He lived and worked in Lincoln most of his life before moving to Narka about a year ago.

He is survived by one brother, Duane Walkenhorst of Phoenix, Ariz,, and a nephew Todd Walkenhorst of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dallas Walkenhorst.
