Harry Walker, 65, Died Here Late Tuesday

Former Blair Business Man In Failing Health For Many Months

Harry E. Walker, former Blair business man, died at Memorial Community Hospital Tuesday. He had been in failing health for many months. He was 65 years old.

Most of Mr. Walker’s business life was spent in the automotive parts business. For a number of years he was associated with the Nebraska-Iowa Supply Company. Later he formed his own firm, the Blair Supply Co., and began doing business at Sixteenth and Nebraska streets. The business, still in the same location, has since been sold and Mr. Walker retired from active participation in most affairs several years ago.

He was born at Versailles, Illinois, September 13th, 1900. He was located at Tekamah for a time and came to the Blair vicinity in the early 30’s, In Blair he took an active interest in many civic affairs. He was a Mason and a Past Master of Washington Lodge No, 21.

He is survived by his wife, Dorena, who is well-known throughout the area for her interest in the hospital affairs at Blair, and by a son William, of Des Moines, and by five grand-children.

Funeral services are being held today (Thursday) at the First Methodist Church. The Rev. Dale Westadt will conduct the services and Campbell Mortuary is in charge of interment in the Blair Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Stuart Maurer, Wilbur Lowe, Ray Hansen, E. A. Schmidt, Jack Frost and Jack McPhail.
