ALMA LARSEN, 81

Alma A. Larsen was born January 19, 1906, on the farm west of Fort Calhoun, to Jacob and Clara Sierk.

She attended Long Creek School and graduated from Ft. Calhoun High School in 1924.

She was married to Harold Larsen on June 29, 1935 at Kountze Memorial Church in Omaha.

They made their home in Omaha and raised their children Ronald, Barbara and Kenneth.

Alma was a 50 year member of Naomi Chapter No. 121, Ft. Calhoun, and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Omaha, and participated in several organizations.

Alma lived at Skyline Villa in Omaha for the past three years.

She died on July 17, 1987, at Immanuel Hospital, at the age of 81 years.

She is survived by her daughter Barbara O’Connor and husband John of Council Bluffs, Iowa; son Kenneth and wife Diane, of Elkhorn, and daughter-in-law, Jeanine and her husband Richard Knight of Wichita, Kansas; seven grandsons, one granddaughter, and one great-grandson; also two sisters, Julia Melotz of Omaha, and Gertrude Heise of Blair.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold, son Ronald, sisters Helen Kruse and Marie Nielsen.

Funeral services were held at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Monday, July 20, 1987, with burial in Ft. Calhoun Cemetery. John Gentleman Mortuary was in charge.

Six nephews were pallbearers: John and David Melotz; Eugene Kruse; Marvin Heise; Rolland Miller; and Roger Nielsen.
