Frank Wesley Wallace

Frank Wallace died at 5 o’clock Sunday morning from the effects of a cerebral hemorrhage that occurred as he was on his way over to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Herb Jones, on Monday of last week. He never regained consciousness and the end was a very peaceful one. The funeral was held at the Methodist church in this city at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon, Rev. W.H. Underwood officiating.

Frank Wesley Wallace was born in Harrison County, Ia. May 18th, 1864, and was therefore almost 53 years of age. Three years ago in June he was severely injured in an auto accident at the DeSoto railroad crossing when his son Alex, and Everett Hineline were instantly killed. From this injury he never thoroughly recovered and it was no doubt the cause of his early death.

He was married to Miss Jennie Tice in Modale, Ia., thirty-one years ago and to them were born ten children, five boys and five girls, all of whom are living but Alex. They are Mrs. Shurrel Ruffcorn, of Mondamin, Ia., Mrs. Solomon Hineline, Mrs. Herb Jones, both of DeSoto, and two girls who live at home, Grace and Mabel. Of the four boys, Guy is the only one married. He lives on the old Oliver Bouvier farm. The boys at home are James, Frank and Russell. He also leaves four brothers, all of whom live in Harrison County, Ia., James, George, Bruce and Emory. Mr. Wallace had served as a member of the DeSoto school board for a number of years.
