Wallace Rites Held Saturday

Former Desoto Resident Died At Daughter’s Home In Exira, IA.

Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Wallace were held Saturday at First Methodist Church in Blair, the Rev. J.D. Johnson officiating. Mrs. Wallace, 86, long a DeSoto resident, died Thursday at the home of her daughter in Exira, Ia.

Mrs. Wallace was born Mar. 31, 1866 near Modale, Ia. She was united in marriage to Frank Wallace in 1884. The Wallaces had ten children, five of whom preceded their mother in death. Mr. Wallace passed away in 1917.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Blanche Jones of Fort Calhoun, Mrs. Ann Ruffcorn of Mondamin, Ia., and Mrs. Mabel Christensen of Exira, Ia.; two sons, Russell Wallace of Gary, Ind., and Frank Wallace of Omaha, 26 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.

Burial was in Blair Cemetery with the Campbell Mortuary in charge.
