Marie V. Wallman, 87

Marie V. Wallman, 87, of Lincoln died Friday, May 29, 2009, at Clark Jeary Retirement Community in Lincoln.

Funeral services were Monday, June 1, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church of Hickman. Interment was in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery of rural Pickrell.

Marie V. Schmidt was born Nov. 18, 1921, at rural Cortland to George J. and Johanna (Lenners) Schmidt.

On May 16, 1941, she married Thees Wallman at Christ Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell. The couple lived and farmed in the Cortland and Princeton area for 46 years.

Mrs. Wallman was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church of Hickman and was a past member of Christ Lutheran Church of rural Pickrell.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Rose Wallman of Lincoln; two daughters and a son-in-law, Debra Wallman of Fremont and Malinda and Bob Jepsen of Blair; son-in-law, David Slusher and wife Karen of Beatrice; four grandchildren, Kyle Slusher and wife, Nicole, of Gretna; Theese Weber and husband, Joe, of Firth; Aaron Jepsen of Costa Mesa, Calif. and Christopher Jepsen of Blair; three great-granddaughters, Elliea Weber of Firth, Addisyn and Maggie Slusher of Gretna.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thees, in October of 2004; and a daughter, Jeanette Wallman Slusher.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Dana College, Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Christ Lutheran Church and Clark Jeary Retirement Community with Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice in charge.
