CHESTER LARSEN, 90

Herman native, Chester Larsen, 90, of Fremont, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008, in Fremont.

Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 25, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Orum. Interment was in the Orum Cemetery.

Chester Larsen was born April 25, 1917, in Herman to Hans C. and Margaret (Christensen) Larsen. He attended the Spiker School.

He served in the U.S. Army Corps from June of 1941 until September of 1945.

On April 1, 1949, he married Betty Petersen.

Mr. Larsen loved farming and raising livestock. He was a member of the Herman Legion and Immanuel Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Jim Roberts of Cushing, Iowa, Kathy and Mike Brodersen of Lakeview, Iowa; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Colleen Larsen of Mead, Colo.; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Orum.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Services 10:30 AM Monday, Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum. Burial Orum Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 PM Sunday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 PM.
